“Great parents and kids. Just a pleasure
to be a part of this wonderful weekend.”
“ Everything about the camp concept and format is
great.”
“ I’m learning things about the game I didn’t
know…but it also gives us a chance to get away from
all the distractions. It’s also fun to get the old
glove on again.”
“ The beauty of this camp is that you get so much
instruction.”
“… a weekend in the mountains with my boys
was very appealing. It harkens back to another time. No TV,
computer or video games. Your cell won’t work here.
We’ve turned off the switch.”
“ I get tips and pointers here that I can take home
and work with them….The coaches really take a lot
of time to work with the kids. They really build up the boys’ confidence
too.”
“A Father/Son Poem”
A ball and a glove,
A dad and his boy;
A weekend at Graves Mountain,
Brings lots and lots of joy!
From the opening session,
Where we learn the Persian root for Paradise;
To the batting cages,
Where your son’s swing starts looking very nice!
The coaches are the best,
Not seeking any fame;
They share their knowledge,
And love of the game.
There is sliding practice,
For the sons on Friday night;
It’s Hot Stove for the dads,
Where what we learn is out-a-sight!
This is no ordinary camp,
The instruction is amazing;
And when some coaches get going,
Even dads are left just gazing!
But fun is had,
By one and all;
Boys and their dads,
Are having a ball.
Pitching and fielding,
Catching and hitting;
And when it’s time to relax,
There is front porch sitting.
In the homerun derby,
Dads try to send balls into the pond;
And of this baseball camp,
Both fathers and sons are quite fond.
